What the Autopilot does in detail
What a single Autopilot run changes
The main Autopilot tool, seo_auto_setup, works through eleven sections: modules, site identity, meta tags with focus keywords, JSON-LD schema, E-E-A-T, sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt, image alt texts, social settings and breadcrumbs. You can limit a run to single sections. Meta titles, descriptions and focus keywords are only written where the field is empty, so values you set by hand stay. A robots.txt is only created if none exists, and llms.txt is regenerated when it is older than 30 days.
Dry run, snapshots and rollback
With dry_run, an Autopilot run returns the planned changes per section and page without writing anything. A real run first stores a snapshot: the settings groups general, schema, social, E-E-A-T, sitemap and company, plus meta title, description, schema type, focus keyword and custom schemas of every processed page. The last five snapshots are kept. seo_restore_snapshot rolls back to one of them and has its own dry-run option. The robots.txt and llms.txt files and image alt texts are not part of a snapshot.
Who may do what: tokens, scopes and limits
There are two ways in. The Claude connector uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, signs in a WordPress administrator and grants read, content and settings rights; access tokens last one hour, refresh tokens 30 days. For other MCP clients you issue per-site tokens with their own scopes, for example read only, and an optional expiry date, revocable at any time. Raw file writes and self-updates are never part of the full scope. Requests are limited to 60 per minute per credential and 120 per minute per IP address.

Can Claude change my WordPress SEO settings directly?+
Yes, with SEOWing on the Starter plan or higher. Add the site in Claude as a custom connector and sign in as a WordPress administrator; Claude can then use SEOWing's 70 MCP tools to run audits and write meta tags, schema and settings. Switch the connector on in SEOWing's MCP settings first. It requires HTTPS and a paid Claude plan.
Which AI assistants work with SEOWing besides Claude?+
Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Besides the Claude connector, which signs in over OAuth, you can create per-site access tokens in SEOWing for other MCP clients. Each token has its own scopes, for example read only, an optional expiry date and can be revoked at any time.
How do I undo changes made by the SEO Autopilot?+
Before every real seo_auto_setup run, SEOWing stores a snapshot of the SEO settings and of the meta fields of the processed pages, and keeps the last five. Ask your agent to list them with seo_list_snapshots and restore one with seo_restore_snapshot, ideally as a dry run first. The robots.txt and llms.txt files and image alt texts are not covered.
Does SEOWing log what the AI agent changed?+
Meta changes, including those made over MCP, and every change to modules or settings are always recorded in SEOWing's audit log, with user and channel. A record of every single MCP tool call is optional: the setting log_requests is off by default. When it is on, API keys, tokens and passwords in the parameters are masked before storage.
