What happens when content is created
One call for content and SEO fields
Content is created through the seo_create_post tool. It takes the title, HTML content, excerpt, slug, parent page, page template and featured image, plus the SEO title, meta description and focus keyword. Categories and tags are assigned by name and created if they do not exist yet, and custom taxonomies work the same way. Pass the ID of an existing post and the same tool updates it, so revising an older article follows the identical path. On Elementor pages it also accepts Elementor JSON and warns when a change would only touch the fallback post content.
Drafts first, preview by default
New posts are saved as drafts unless another status (pending, private, scheduled or published) is requested explicitly. Writing tools need the content:write scope on the MCP key, so a read-only key can analyse but never create. Raw file writes are never covered by a wildcard key and must be granted separately. In the in-admin assistant, Preview is the default mode: write actions are listed instead of executed, and only after you approve does SEOWing run exactly the previewed calls.
The assistant and its limits
The in-admin assistant uses your own API key, so model costs are billed by your AI provider. It works with a curated set of SEOWing tools, including post creation, meta, schema and internal link suggestions, and deleting posts is blocked. By default one run is limited to 14 tool rounds, 45 seconds and 25 write actions, and each user can send 20 messages per minute. Business facts such as address or authors come from your settings; if they are missing, the assistant asks instead of guessing.

Can SEOWing write blog posts with AI in WordPress?+
Yes, with the Pro plan. The in-admin assistant uses your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini and can create a post with title, content, SEO title, meta description and focus keyword in one step. Alternatively, Claude or another MCP client writes the post through the seo_create_post tool. In both cases new posts are saved as drafts unless you explicitly ask for another status.
Does AI-generated content get published automatically?+
Not by default. New posts are saved as drafts unless a different status is requested. The in-admin assistant starts in Preview mode, which lists every planned change without executing it, and nothing is written until you approve the plan. If you switch the assistant to Execute mode or tell Claude to publish, the change is applied directly, so keep Preview active for anything you want to review first.
Does AI content creation work with WPML and Polylang?+
Yes. When WPML or Polylang is active, the seo_create_post tool sets the language of a new post from a language code and links it to its original through the translation_of parameter. In update mode it finds an existing translation by slug and language, so a translated page can be revised without looking up its ID first. Without either plugin, SEOWing returns a warning that the language parameter could not be applied.
Which AI models does the SEOWing assistant support?+
The assistant supports OpenAI (default model gpt-4.1), Anthropic Claude (default claude-sonnet-4-6) and Google Gemini (default gemini-2.5-flash). You enter your own API key, which SEOWing stores encrypted. On WordPress 7.0 and later, the core AI connectors can be selected for text generation, but the tool-using assistant still needs one of the key-based providers.
