How the link analysis works
Where suggestions come from
For a given page, SEOWing checks your other published content: does its focus keyword or its title already appear in this page's text without a link to it? If so, that phrase becomes the proposed anchor, together with the target page and the reason. Phrases shorter than 4 or longer than 60 characters are skipped to avoid matching stray words or overlong titles. Up to 200 recently modified pages are compared, 5 suggestions per request by default and at most 20. On Elementor pages the tool reads the visible text and skips targets already linked in widgets.
Internal PageRank and link depth
SEOWing builds a link graph of all published posts and pages and calculates an internal PageRank with a damping factor of 0.85 over 20 iterations, scaled from 0 to 10. Nofollow links are ignored. Starting from a static front page, a breadth-first pass measures how many clicks each page needs, and pages that cannot be reached are marked. The graph is refreshed weekly in the background and on demand. On sites with more than 2,000 posts and pages, a manual run is queued in the background instead of blocking the request.
Orphan pages and anchor text
The Internal Links screen lists orphan pages, meaning published posts and pages without a single internal link pointing to them, each with a button to find link opportunities. The anchor text analysis counts every internal anchor, marks generic ones such as click here, read more or learn more, and flags an anchor as overused when it appears more than 20 times and always points to the same page. PageRank, inbound and outbound links and depth per page can be exported as CSV.

Does SEOWing add internal links automatically?+
No, link suggestions are not inserted on their own. Each suggestion names the target page, the anchor phrase found in your text and the reason for the match. You set the link in the editor, or ask Claude over MCP or the in-admin assistant to edit the content for you. The suggestion feature reads your content but never changes links that already exist.
How does SEOWing find orphan pages in WordPress?+
SEOWing reads the content of all published posts and pages, extracts every internal link and counts the inbound links per page. Pages with zero inbound links, apart from the front page, appear as orphan pages on the Internal Links screen. Links marked nofollow do not count. The counts are stored with each PageRank run, which happens weekly, so recalculate after larger content changes to see a current list.
Does internal link analysis work with Elementor?+
For link suggestions, yes: the tool used by Claude and the in-admin assistant reads the visible text and the widget links of Elementor pages. PageRank, link depth, orphan pages and anchor text analysis, as well as the quick suggestions in the editor box, currently read the stored post content. On Elementor pages that content can be incomplete, so these figures may undercount links on builder pages.
Which content types does the internal link analysis cover?+
Link suggestions over MCP and in the assistant consider all public post types, including custom post types such as products, and exclude media attachments. PageRank, link depth, orphan pages and anchor text analysis, as well as the quick suggestions in the editor box, cover published posts and pages. Drafts are not part of the link graph until they are published.
