What the audit checks
Site-wide checks
Besides the pages, the audit checks the site setup. Site identity: site name, description, company name, logo, favicon, home title and description, and whether the WordPress language matches the content. Technical basics: HTTPS, pretty permalinks, search engine visibility, XML sitemap, robots.txt and the PHP version. It also reviews schema settings, E-E-A-T data, local SEO details such as address, phone, coordinates and opening hours, image settings, social profiles and whether llms.txt exists and is current. On sites for Germany, Austria and Switzerland it also checks Impressum, privacy policy, terms and contact page.
How every page is scored
Every published page of every public post type is evaluated, in all languages of a WPML or Polylang site. A page starts at 100 points and loses 20 for each gap: no meta title, no meta description, no focus keyword, no schema type or no featured image, with legal pages exempt from the image check. The detailed content analysis also reports thin content and heading problems without lowering the score. The site score weights each category by how much evidence it holds, so a problem across many pages is not averaged away by a few passing settings.
From finding to fix
The Audit page in the admin lists every issue sorted by severity, with the affected pages and an edit link for each. Bulk fixing runs through the Autopilot on the Starter plan and up: seo_fix_audit_issues fills missing meta titles, descriptions, focus keywords, schema and Open Graph images, by default only where a value is missing, and can include WPML or Polylang translations. seo_auto_setup also covers sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt and image alt texts. Both tools support a dry run, so you see the planned changes before anything is written.

How do I run a full SEO audit of my WordPress site?+
Install SEOWing and open the Audit page in the WordPress admin. A click on Run Full Audit checks every published page plus the site settings and stores the result, including a site score from 0 to 100 and a list of issues sorted by severity. The admin audit is part of the free plan; you need administrator rights to run it.
Does the SEOWing audit crawl my site like an external crawler?+
No. It reads pages, SEO fields, images and settings directly from WordPress instead of fetching every page over HTTP. In the admin audit only robots.txt and the XML sitemap are requested by URL. That keeps the audit manageable on large sites, but it does not measure loading speed in the browser.
Can the audit fix SEO problems automatically?+
Yes, from the Starter plan. The Autopilot tools seo_fix_audit_issues and seo_auto_setup fill missing meta titles, descriptions, focus keywords, schema, Open Graph images and image alt texts, and set up sitemap, robots.txt and llms.txt. Run them as a dry run first to review every planned change before it is written.
Does the audit cover multilingual WordPress sites?+
Yes. The admin audit includes published pages in every language of a WPML or Polylang site, not only the active language. Over MCP, seo_full_site_audit reports the real total page count and checks up to 500 pages per call, so an agent works through larger sites step by step with an offset.
